Manhunt…..Game or Reality?

“I never thought this day would come……”

Proverbs 31 vs 1-3
he words of king Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him. What, my son? and what , the son of my womb? and what, the son of my vows? Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings.

The year is 2000 my oldest three baby boys were as cute and loveable as can be.As toddlers they received so many compliments and it was flattering I must admit. I remember sisters telling me, “when those adorable lil boys get older, girls are going to be ringing your door bell.” Now back to the present, REALITY STRIKES!!!

My sons are young men (teenagers) and those cute adorable faces are transforming before my very eyes .

Sisters’ visions and foresight of “girl drama” are beginning to come to pass.

This is where my story begins……

It was a Sunday afternoon, at the end of summer, getting prepared for the kids to start back to school…I’m doing my usual Proverbs 31 thang (cooking, cleaning, pamper changing etc.) My husband, my lord had just left the house on an errand while all of a sudden I heard the doorbell ring. I thought to myself, “that can’t be my husband he can’t be back so soon”. So I dismissed it and went about my business, But my mommy instinct kicked in…….(Pause) “Who’s that at my door? I’m thinking as I see one of my sons peering through the window.

Something is up! Let’s find Oouuttt!!!

So I asked, Who was that? My son nonchalantly said ‘I don’t know, some girls”.

SOME GIRLS???? (who girl scouts?) So I scurried to see for myself who is that. To my surprise no one was there. Just as I turned around heading back to the kitchen, I see two of my boys dart through the house , to make their way outside. So likewise I began heading in that same direction, as I am barreling through the laundry room like I’m on the track team in junior high school , I tread so softly as not to even make my feet appear to touch the ground to sneak up on them…my second son and I crossed paths.

What is before my eyes!!! Three girls dressed all out of order at my gate…wanting to “play”.

Shut up, and go sit down somewhere, no shame or decency whatsoever. Where are these girls mamas’ and fathers’? They probably didn’t think an adult was home, and must have seen my husband leave out the driveway. I had my eyes fixated one on my son to see his demeanor and the other one on those three “thirsty travelers” who rang my bell….staring them down ! (I’m bad like that LOL ). This is where Proverbs 27:23 came in “ be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks and to look well to thy herds.”

( My husband and I have a flock and tribe of our own, kids keep you busy….pay attention regardless of their age….so they stay out of trouble!! )

So with a regal tone, I asked the ( she wolves ) girls “How may I help you?”

Note: one of the she wolves was red & hairy all over ( ya’ll know what I mean).

One of them responded “ Is your son home?”

WHAT !!

I’m thinking to myself you just spoke to my son seconds ago you little demons. Now I know what it is to be young and not wanting to be embarrass my sons, so I played it cool. So I said “I’m sorry, but he has chores to do, do you want to leave a message?”

At that moment what came across my mind was

Sirach 30:11,13.”

“Give him no liberty in his youth and wink not at his follies”

Vs 13…..Chastise thy son and hold him to labor.”

These girls were uncomfortable and thrown off track and that’s exactly how I wanted it.

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

So, as I’m walking back into the house I’m thinking to myself, “Paryah you handled that pretty well, because the old woman in me wanted to curse those little hoochies out!”

*(Sidebar)

I forgot to tell ya’ll they came by wanting to play a game call MAN HUNT, it’s a version of Hide & Seek. Translation for discerning mothers…. “Hide & Seek For My Sons Souls” is what I call it!

Yea right, not on my watch! These hoochies got mama bear twisted

Proverbs 5:1-8 My son, attend unto my wisdom, and bow thine ear to my understanding: vs2 That thou mayest regard discretion, and that thy lips may keep knowledge. vs3 For the lips of a strange woman drop as an honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil: vs4 But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword. vs5 Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on hell. vs6 Lest thou shouldest ponder the path of life, her ways are moveable, that thou canst not know them. vs7 Hear me now therefore, O ye children, and depart not from the words of my mouth. vs8 Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house:

As a mother of ten & counting (six of which are boys from toddlers to teenagers) one of our greatest joy’s in life are our children and we as moms will go to any length to protect our children. The scriptures coupled with our life experiences give us the wisdom on how to navigate our children away and around the wiles of the devil. I say this because my son asked me “mom did you have to go out there and speak to them? I could handle it”. He also said that I had pushed him out of the way and didn’t even realize it when I was talking….never underestimate the strength of a woman, especially a mother trying to protect her kids!

And my answer is “YES” I had to, because the “man” they were hunting was “YOU”!

I need to know who’s trying to enter into my circle, and enter the lives of my children, without exception they must come through me. Now my children may not fully understand nor grasp this concept yet and to be honest I really don’t care if they do. The Most High gave me that authority.

Sirach 3:2 For the Lord has given the father honor over the children and has confirmed the authority of the mothers of the sons.

So what do I say to my sons?

“ BEWARE OF ALL WHOREDOM MY SONS”

Tobit 4:11

Beware of ALL whoredom my son, and chiefly take a wife of the seed of thy fathers……

I pray this excerpt from my life can be of some spiritual food to the moms and moms to be.

Blessings to the Daughters of Sarah.

  1. Love this post! I wish I had a mother like you when I was young, but it was before my mom found the truth. It would have saved me a lot of trouble. You have a beautiful family and I hope to have children of my own soon to raise righteously.
