The Burn
Now that you have joined a gym or have made some space in your home to use for your work out area get ready to feel the burn. Yes, the burning feeling you get when you have worked out. This usually leaves most individuals sore. If you’ve never worked out or haven’t worked out in while you will experience this. Feeling sore is something you shouldn’t be afraid of. It just means your body is trying to adjust to its new routine. Regular day to day walking won’t affect your legs too much and they will feel fine, but if your doing squats or working your inner or outer thighs you will feel some soreness. If you’re doing a complete body workout, depending on the weight or activity they have at the gym work out classes like Zumba , or running on the tread mill, you should feel this through out your entire body.
As you workout, you will slowly get stronger and will lose weight. As you’re losing weight you want to tighten that skin by either running or doing weights. I for one love my weights because I like the results I get. There are times I feel very sore because a muscle has been torn, but I’m okay with this because new muscle will be built over the next few days. I will allow my body at this time to heal and recuperate. I have to do it all over again until my body gets accustomed to it. My work outs, for the most part, are mid to heavy days. I’m trying to work in a light day of just cardio, but it’s hard for me because I dislike cardio.

Hope this Help -Joabby
Light to heavy days are a good way to balance out your workout meaning you’ll have days where you do more and days where you do less. You don’t wanna feel exhausted all the time doing weights and you don’t wanna feel to comfortable just doing light work outs and realize your not actually getting the results you want. Mixing it up is a great way to cover the entire body and this involves choosing different areas of your body to workout as opposed to working the whole body at once. Last week I was feeling sore with my biceps because I was doing reps (repetitions) of 10 and doing sets of 2-3 at 60 pounds weight setting. I’m doing the same thing 10 times once then I break for a bit and do 10 again making it two sets and so on. As you get your blood flowing and oxygen throughout the body and your heart rate up you feel stronger and get a little burst of energy. I can see some of my little veins working and can see my arms getting larger due to blood flow. I will perspire a bit but nothing ridiculous. I’m trying to remain fit not get bulky or too thin at the same time. Each body type is different and it’s good to set your routine up based on what you want to achieve. Enjoy the burn because it will pay off in the end!

What do you wear when you are doing cardio?

Shalom sister mhncbu,
I too am wondering what would be appropriate to wear to the gym, as we are not supposed to wear trousers/leggins/workout pants. Could please shed some light and give some examples of what to wear please.
Thank you, mhncbu shalom

Me and my fiancé was just having this conversation about wearing
appropriate attire to the gym. I was telling him it’s nothing wrong with wearing leggings yoga pants etc long as I’m not paying anybody any mind. Could you share your thoughts on this or things that I could say to put his mind at ease.

When going to the gym, I wear loose fitting draw-string sweats by Under Armour, so they are appropriate and trendy. Tops are solid loose cotton crew neck or warm-up zippered top; they cover my hips. I mind my business, do my routine and leave. I am not there to look for or accept attention. It’s all about the workout. It’s in your attitude as well. God will keep the devils at bay. “He will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee [Yahweh]” Peace and blessings dear sisters.
