Modest Apparel
“And it shall come to pass in the day of the Lords’ sacrifice, that I will punish the princes, and the kings’ children, and all such as are clothed in strange apparel.”
– Zephaniah 1 vs 8
Dear Shamarah,
I have nothing to wear!! Please show examples of how me and my daughter can look and feel comfortable and still look good going to school and work. I have always worn pants, my type of work requires me to be in the public eye, and my teenage daughter says I’m trying to make her look like an old lady.
Help us,
Sincerely Sister D

Shalom sis…
Just say NO to pants!! Its a drug!! Lol. Let the words skirts and dresses become part of your vocabulary. Fashion is vain…yep I said it. However, the fact remains that we women still want to look pretty in our lands of captivity and love clothing but we don’t want to feel like outcasts with the social stigma that comes from being different. We like pretty shoes, jewelery and all the stuff that comes with it. Yes the fashion of this world is wicked and perverse because of the customs of the heathen and so forth. Until we can make and manufacture our own clothing, fabric and all, and not depend on our adversaries for our needs we must make the best example of whatever we may have.

Learn to sew and make your own clothes just as many of our grandmothers and ancient foremothers did before us. If you follow the dress code law and basic standards of modesty and decency you will always be in FASHION. I am embarking my own sewing journey and this is a site that I came across and placed in my favorites:

Many have addressed the concern that they don’t want to give up their sense of style or flair when they acknowledge thier heritage as repentant Israelites. Im here to let you know that you CAN keep that style in righteousness. There are some sisters that feel like, “I don’t want to mess up my clothes putting those fringes on”. I was one of them so I know it can be done and not miss a step in your righteous runway.
“Speak unto the children of Israel, and bid them that they make them fringes in the borders of their garments throughout their generations, and that they put upon the fringe of the borders a ribbon of blue.”
– Number 15 vs 38
Make sure your clothing is 100% of whatever fabric you’re wearing. Silk, cotton and linen are obviously the best in terms of natural fabrics but be sure to check the tags in the clothing before purchasing them.
However many man-made synthetic fabrics, such as rayon and polyester, also come in 100% and can mimic any type of texture or feel including faux fur, leather and suede.
“Thou shalt not sow thou field with mingled seed neither shall a garment mingled of linen and woolen come upon thee.”
– Leviticus 19 vs. 19
Just because you’re an Israelite in modern day times doesn’t mean that you have to look like an ancient slave or old handmaid. If the look of being covered up from head to toe is appealing to you and your house go for it…in style.

Some sisters may show their elbows or shoulders in good taste while other sisters may wear a head covering all the time even if they are not praying or prophesying. The key is always to be prepared and rehearse the righteous acts until our savior comes. From daycare to the supermarket, from the corporate office to the back yard barbeque, informal to formal occasions, you still need to be dressed appropriately. But above all else keep the law while doing so. Let the unbelievers know by witnessing your example that the women of Israel are graceful, stylish and modest in the end times. Many of our daughters go to school are under peer pressure to look like their classmates who wear inmodest clothing, revealing necklines and all other secret parts as a choice, but there are still modest options that are available in today’ culture. They need to know how to shop, what to look for, and how to dress for themselves. My daughter came home recently and told me she was asked in a crowded junior high school cafeteria in front of a group of her classmates why she only wears skirts and dresses and was not ashamed to give the biblical answer. It makes me very proud that she is very well put together and is a shining light against the whorish darkness of today. This is a testimony that wearing modes apparel in confidence can be done to the amazement of onlookers and many doubters. We were at our local Wal-mart when a fellow customer stopped us to compliment us both and ask questions because it was so rare to see a mother and daughter dressed so decently. You never know who you may meet on your spiritual journey so look the part. Our daughters and young girls look to us as examples so open up your closet door and chose wisely.
[two-third last]“The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a womans garment; for all that do so are an abomination unto the Lord thy God.”
– Deuteronomy 22:5

I love that y’all made this article ! It helped me out so much ???
Is there a website that I can go to, or perhaps photos of the kind of attire we should be wearing when we workout? It will be kind of difficult to work out at a gym in a dress or skirt I’d think.
Thank you for this kind of direction. It’s hard to know where to begin. I’m so accustom to wearing pants. I’m willing to change. Thank you
Can you make a post with more details to help with choosing clothing? Can I wear a garment that has 100% cotton shell and 100% polyester lining? How do I find bras that are 100% fabric? I find a lot of nylon/spandex bras, does that count as mixed fabric? And are there any 100% cotton undergarments that don’t look like they came from my grandmother’s dresser? Also, many pantyhose have 100% nylon legs but the top is lyrca. And many more questions and road blocks I’m running into. I’ve been researching, but it’s hard to find credible information regarding our dress code as Hebrew Isrealite women. Thanks for anyone’s help on this.
What kind of clothes should i wear to work out in?
We are not African nor egyptian (kemet). Others have been taught how to dress in their culture and clothing made specigically for them. I use to think I wanted to wear African attire but now knowing we are not, doing so say we are. I’ve been looking and trying to get ideas because we don’t. My thought i don’t want to wear anything European either. Thanks for the insight. Use what we have that’s available to us. We still want look European nor African if we choose wisely.
