Little Sarah
To My Dearest Young Daughter,
My prayer and hope for my daughter as she grows up is that she fears the Lord always, remembers that biblical educational is more precious than a worldly one. I pray that she is shown favour in all her endeavours in this life and is prepared to have eternal life. In her future, I want that she will be loved by a man of the Lord and is well taken care of, becomes an excellent wife and mother, and in doing these things she will be continually blessed, mind, body and soul. I pray also that she continues to be a beautiful person inside and out.
Love your mother in Christ always.

After I gave birth to my daughter it felt like my life had changed a lot even though she was not my first child. It was sort of like seeing a mini- me. Watching her learn how to sit, how to talk, how to dress, to stay out of men’s faces was an experience and it continues on and on. The list is endless and as she grows up the pressure is on. My own mother told me when my daughter was about 5 or 6 how proud she was of me and that I was a great mom and she wished she was that good to me and my sister when I was growing up. I shed a tear or two for a while but all the credit goes to the Lord.
When I was about 17 years old I watched this movie with my mom called ‘Imitation of Life’ starring Lana Turner and Juanita Moore (she was a famous black actress married to a famous congressman named Adam Clayton Powell in Harlem). It was about a young girl that could ‘pass’ for a white woman and how much hatred she had for her race and her mother who was of a dark skinned complexion. She caused herself and her mother so much pain because of her self -hatred and desire to fit in. Love yourself, embrace your dark skin, love your fellow brethren, and your nation of people. That movie is a real tear jerker. Watch it with your daughter, niece, mom, sister and girlfriends because it puts things into perspective.

Apocrypha: The Book of Ecclesiasticus 7 vs. 25
“marry thy daughter, and so shalt thou have performed a weighty matter; but give her to a man of understanding.”
Apocrypha: The Book of Ecclesiasticus 22 vs. 4
“a wise daughter shall bring an inheritance to her husband, but she that liveth dishonestly is her fathers’ heaviness.”
Apocrypha: The Book of Ecclesiasticus 26 vs. 10-12
“if thy daughter be shameless, keep her in straitly, lest she abuse herself through overmuch liberty. By every hedge will she sit down, and open her quiver against every arrow.”
Be mindful of who your daughters’ so-called friends are in school. Check up on her unexpectedly at school. Pay attention to if she comes home straight from school and who she likes to be around. Be sure to monitor her cell phone, computer web-site, and Facebook activity. You might be surprised at some of the things our children are exposed to and may be willing to do or have already done under peer pressure. You would also be surprised by the double lives that some people have. What is also troubling is the images that our children post through internet. Sexting, photos and videos can be taken secretly and posted for all the world to see. There are child predators looking and seeking young girls and women who really have no idea how wicked this world really is and are not spiritually prepared for how hard a fall they are possibly heading for.
What do her teachers’ say about her and what is her reputation with adults, boys and girls. Wanting to fit in physically and socially should never outweigh their moral standing with the Most High and Christ.
Years ago if girls didn’t like you or were jealous of you they would pick a fight, maybe pull your hair out, jump you after school, or minor stuff. Wicked girls today are gangbangers. They will ‘group’ jump you in a minute with their mama and grandma right there edging them on telling them to slash your face and then put the fight on YouTube. There have been reports of girls having girls set up to be raped, robbed, beat up, etc. Let your family and trusted proven friends always know where you as a young lady are going. If you have brothers they should be escorting you and picking you up. Don’t walk around without a clue. Look around and be aware of your surroundings. You should especially be cautious around wicked unrepentant boys and men as well as the men of the other nations. Don’t get into cars of people you and your folks don’t know and don’t go to everybody and anybody’s house either.
Read the story of Dinah Genesis 34
Genesis 34 vs. 1-2
“…and Dinah the daughter of Leah, which she bare unto Jacob, went out to see the daughters of the land. And when Shechem the son of Hamor the Hivite, prince of the country, saw her, he took her, and lay with her, and defiled her.”
Don’t play mind games with boys or other girls. It’s not a joke out in this wicked world. Your job as a young repentant Israelite woman is to keep the commandments, learn how to be an example at home or outside and to get a good education. Don’t brag about what you’ve got or draw unneeded attention to yourself because nobody likes a show off. No touchy feely anywhere and no sitting in boys or girls laps. Keep your hands to yourself, your tongue in your mouth, and your skirts and dresses below the knee. If you are hiding some wicked behaviour repent while you still can because it will not be a secret for long. Remember, the truth always comes out whether you are ready or not. The Lord will reveal everything in due time.
Homosexuality is on the rise among young girls who enjoy dressing and acting like a boy. Experimentating and being curious in lewd behaviour is of the devil. Keep your legs closed, avoid schoolyard gossip and keep your mouth shut. In the long run it will keep you out of trouble.
Deuteronomy 23 vs. 17
“There shall be no whore of the daughters of Israel, nor a sodomite of the sons of Israel.”
Proverbs 20 vs. 11
“Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right.”
You’ve heard the term ‘fast girls’. We called this type of girl ‘a hoe’ when I was growing up or hot in the pants. We lived in a project building in the early 1980’s in Brooklyn and a girl that was in the eighth grade just like me was pregnant at the same time as her mother! There was an epidemic of teenage pregnancy back then and it’s back on the rise again now. It was a shame to see her walking around with a big belly. My dad used to say he would kick us out if we embarrassed him like that. He would be searching through our drawers looking for stuff and found ‘things’ in my sisters possessions. She was dating a guy in the building we lived in. My father said he was no good even though he was a ‘church boy’. In the end, he broke my sisters’ heart and that by the way proved that dad was right. Turns out that good old church boy was a drug dealer!
There is no such thing as dating or premarital sex with the Lord only marriage and only when you are ready to get married or betrothed to a man of the Lord.
Apocrypha: The Book of Ecclesiasticus 42 vs. 9-11
“The father waketh for the daughter, when no man knoweth, and the care for her taketh away sleep; when she is young lest she pass away the flowers of her age; and being married, lest she should be hated; in her virginity, lest she be defiled and gotten with child in her fathers’ house. Keep a sure watch over a shameless daughter, lest she make thee a laughingstock to thine enemies, and a byword in the city, and a reproach among the people, and make thee ashamed before the multitude.”
Sexual abuse is a taboo subject in the black community. No one wants to talk about it, but it is one of the big demonic gorillas in the room. This demon leads to drug abuse, prostitution and even murder. Rape, incest and child molestation are not of the Lord. It is commonly known that most victims know their attacker or abuser. It could be an uncle, brother, cousin, father or your mothers boyfriend. Some women are abusers as well!!!!! Make sure you report any fondling, inappropriate touching or anything else that feels or looks wrong and makes you feel uncomfortable. Confess and tell immediately to someone that you know to be a servant of the Lord.
James 5 vs. 16
“Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed.”
Read Leviticus Chapter 20 vs 10-23 for a breakdown of sexual sins.
Leviticus 20 vs. 17
“…and if a man shall take his sister, his fathers’ daughter, or his mothers’ daughter, and see her nakedness; it is a wicked thing; and they shall be cut off in the sight of their people; he hath uncovered his sisters’ nakedness; he shall bear his iniquity.”
Leviticus 20 vs. 19
“… and thou shall not uncover the nakedness of thy mothers’ sister, nor of thy fathers’ sister for he uncovereth his near kin; they shall bear their iniquity.”
Read the story of Tamar in 2 Samuel Chapter 13.
2 Samuel 13 vs. 11
“…he took hold of her and said unto her ‘come lie with me my sister’. And she answered him ‘nay my brother, do not force me, for no such thing ought to be done in Isreal; do not this folly’.”
1 Corinthians 14 vs. 40
“Let all things be done decently and in order.”
