Little Bumblebee
I have something to write, something to say, a story to tell with time to pray.
I must say it didn’t take me as long as some people-until my hairs turned gray, nor did I have to wither away in the sun like a grape on a summer’s day.
Holding on so desperately to the one thing I’ve always known like a child holding onto a toy although they are outgrown- outgrown with time & maturity & each day I begin to see more assuredly.
Indeed I have loved you like a friend; with hopes on one day planting a seed of intimacy & witnessing it grow.
I suppose my honey wasn’t suitable for a bee like you nor were you likely to pollinate my flower properly.
Don’t think the worse of me or tell yourself “I knew it” because YAH’s decision and reasoning is his own & that’s all to it.
Perhaps another flower has caught your eye, whose petals are glossier & scent more delectable to your senses & that’s fine, because all wildflowers are unique & divine.
I’m used to bees coming quickly as they go, & I’m familiar with the sun, rain & snow. Just as the water nourishes my innermost being & the wind comforts me, I will not strain my beautiful head but rest easy, comfortably beneath the trees.
Wait patiently in the rain…for once again the sun will shine & if you decide to fly by that’s fine, I will never forget you little bumblebee & how you buzz from tree to tree.
I shall remain here while you are free to roam, while I’m here I might as well make a home. How at times I secretly desire to fly- my nature is firmly planted as my creator intended so there’s no point in my trying to understand it.
Instead of wasting my energy in watching you go I will focus my time in my growth. And when that next little bumblebee catches the right scent I’ll know in my heart that preparation was time well spent.
