Diets a.k.a Eating Healthy

Diets a.k.a Eating Healthy

Diets can be hard to maintain and difficult to stomach, but it’s important to your workout.  There’s no point hitting up the gym, or spending hours each time every week at home doing exercise if it’s all for nothing in the end.  I personally am not a diet fanatic.  I for one like fruits, veggies, and dairy products.  I work in an industry of food and believe it or not I don’t actually eat like I am suppose to.  I almost never take a break because there is so much to do.  I live off of coffee, bread and butter and maybe some cereal in the morning.  It’s not a good diet whatsoever and on top of that I try to work out 3 times a week.  I may not be the best eater, but when I get the time to grocery shop I don’t obsess about calories, but I will take the time to check the quality content on packages.  I enjoy greek yogurt and the protein it gives me.  I like nutrient filled cereals that will offer fibre and iron.  I try to get in about a  litre of water in probably every day.  I like my water filtered because I can actually taste the difference.  I will occasionally have a steak and you can never go wrong with chicken.375985_10150484026469218_738645658_n

Some of you might be saying ‘this girl is starving herself’ but my body has become accustomed to this work routine for the last 3 years.  I can stand for 9 hours or more moving around and  for the most part be okay, but I assure you when the appetite hits it’s dangerous!  I can consume quite a bit, but in a balanced moderate level.  I have a sore spot for sweets and when you have a pastry chef making delicious bread, cakes, tarts, ice cream, cookies, molten lava cake all made from scratch it can be very difficult to pass up.  When your not eating properly and the one or two things you eat are sweets for the day, despite my moving about it will add on and anyone who has an opposite working environment sitting at  a desk with little to no movement and snacking on bad food you will gain weight.

There must be balance of some sort in your daily routine.  If you love snacks you will have to work out harder to burn off those calories or eat more of the good stuff to compensate to balance it out.  If you had fast food, chips, candy, chocolate and pop then the next day should be a higher intake of water, water and more water to flush the toxins out of your body.  For those who are not into the fruit and veggie juice mixtures water is great and it helps to hydrate the body and skin to make you look younger, feel better, and help with your stool for those who are not regular.  It’s recommended that you go after every meal.  Sounds ridiculous, but I’ve experienced it.  You don’t realize how backed up you are until you start to work out and increase your metabolism.  Once you start going 2-3 times a day your on your way.  If your not going at least once everyday you may face potential medical risks in the near future.  This is not an exaggeration of the point because your body is meant to be in motion.  Society has made it convenient for many of us to be lazy.  Places we can walk to we think are too far so we drive instead when in reality it’s a 7 min walk.  Cycling is a great and fun way to get around also.  Some of us have children to stay home and take care of so let the little ones participate and even coach you on.

As long as we make an effort to balance or eating lifestyle by making healthier choices and knowing how to compensate for poor choices at times we can live longer and healthier lives.  Let’s all try to set the better example…myself included!
